The Jefferson County Fair is an annual celebration of agriculture, entertainment, and community in Jefferson County, New York. This mid-summer weekend-long celebration of Cape Vincent’s French heritage attracts visitors with its French pastries, French breads, parades, fireworks and crafters’ village. Cape Vincent, New York was settled by sympathizers of French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. While Napoleon never escaped his imprisonment, supporters including his brother Joseph made their homes here. The French Festival has been running for more than 50 years!
This vintage and classic auto show is held yearly on the historic Cape Vincent Village Green with 15 categories including Stock Production, Street Rod, Stock Truck , Stock Foreign, Un-Restored, and even a Town Supervisor “Best in Show”. The fun includes food, live music, and a hands-on experience for children of all ages to explore a monster truck, race car, emergency vehicles and more.
Zoo New York began in 1920 with the donation of two whitetail deer to Thompson Park. Since then, the zoo has evolved into a thriving attraction, showcasing a diverse collection of wildlife. Summer Hours: May – Oct., Daily 10 AM to 5 PM.
